The Vogalonga Race in Venice...34 km of hard work and beauty!

The 43rd Vogalonga ("long row" in Italian) ...more than 8000 rowers and paddlers in 2700 boats from every corner of the world filled the San Marco bay this year, including as usual two boats from San Miniato.

At 9 am when the cannon exploded to mark the beginning of the race, our fast boat made up of our strongest teenagers took off ahead of all others...and stayed ahead for all 34 kilometers, posting one of the top two times for the course. Even if it is not a competitive race, all the rowers try to do it as fast as is in our nature to win!

The race course goes all around the islands of the Venice Lagoon: Burano, Murano, Giudecca, starting and finishing at San Mark's Square. For any rower it is an INCREDIBLE day of sports and sightseeing.
